I told Adam it was time to get ready for the airport to get Grandma and Grandpa. He came down and boy was he ready. He said, "I'm planning to play Revolutionary War with Grandpa." We just watched Disney's Johnny Tremain and I find myself explaining to him the British aren't bad, in fact we have many good friends that are British. I think he just likes getting to use his new Nerf gun.
Don't worry, he's not dangerous.
When grandparents arrived we wasted no time getting started on fun projects. Adam showed Grandpa the tool set they gave him for his birthday last month and they did some hammering and drilling.
Grandma and the girls did cross stitch, which they eventually put aside for a whole lot of knitting instead.
It's good to be so loved.
We enjoyed walking with Grandpa, while Sarah and Grandma stayed home to tend to their ankles. Sarah's sprain is still healing.
We all decided to participate in the library's Poet Tree. If you wrote a poem on a leaf you could get a free ice cream or snow cone at Scooptacular. We all wrote poems and shared them with each other before heading to the library.
Adam dictated to me about his safe for his poem and named it The Safe Spot.
When we got to the library, we realized the library was closed, so we fed the ducks instead and planned to come back Monday with our poem leaves and claim our rewards.
Somehow we got having a bread fight, probably due to fat overfed ducks and an overabundance of nasty bread that Cheryl left behind which she agreed was "toxic" but good to feed ducks with.
We were all having a great time.
They are after me with bread, you can see it in Adam's eyes! You can also see Rachel packing her bread ball.
Truce! It was beautiful just before sunset.
Sunday Grandpa and Sarah did family history.
And Grandpa cut strawberries for dessert with Rachel and Adam, teaching them the tricks of the trade. He even brought us a strawberry slicer.
Adam had so much love to spread around.
Sweet snuggles for Sarah, or is he trying to cheat? Hmm! No he was just feeling loving.
Morning snuggles with Rachel.
The next day we had a concert.
Then turned our poems in at the library and earned our rewards.
The next day we were spoiled with blizzards!
We love being spoiled by grandparents!
Snuggling up for a movie night.
Time to get ready for goodbyes, though we wish they could stay forever!
These guys used up every last minute playing all the way to the airport. I honestly don't know what they were doing, I just think it's cute that they are doing it together with such gusto.
Maybe they were yelling at the British?
Oh my, that's better.
Tears are hard to hold back as we say our goodbyes.
Hugs.
We had such a nice visit and a wonderful time. We can't wait for our next visit. Grandma made a little shawl for the girl's dolls to share. I found Rachel snuggling it secretly and wishing for Grandma. So sweet, she always takes it the hardest when our loved ones go. We are glad they always come back!
