Good Morning! Adam likes to "bombs away" his toys down the stair well then make them into a little house on the steps. He has named this down blanket Puffy World, or maybe I named it, and it follows him everywhere. I'm starting to find feathers all over!
Adam loves playing Cars 2 Guess Who, though he has no idea how to play. He trys to copy his opponent and opens and closes whatever doors they do and randomly chooses who you are trying to guess of his, but he loves playing, so we just enjoy it too. In time he'll get it.
Happy kids eating waffles and then listening to Dad's family night lesson about our ancestors. Great Great Grandpa Zwahlen's journal tells about his newlywed life and we set out the equilvalent of all the dishes they owned in their little dugout home. We are truly so blessed to have so much now. We also learned about Great Grandma Mae and what jokes she and her brother Ralph used to like to play on each other.
Then a cute little boy at our house turned 4!
That weekend was the ward campout, which turned out to be the perfect birthday party. He got a new McQueen sleeping bag and flashlight and had as much fun packing up and playing with his gear in the car as he did on the campout! Please can we keep playing in the car?!
Rachel quickly found Benton and enjoyed snuggling him in what we named his Barbalute Suit.
(see the Lorax)
Sarah found the treats. We sang around the campfire and Sarah brought her violin to fiddle for a little hoedown singing.
As it got late we put the little ones to bed. Adam came out of the tent twice and wandered off without shoes and luckily the young men found him in the middle of their capture the flag game. They were happy to be the rescuers.
Sarah stayed up well past midnight with Meg discussing books around the fire.
Finally we were all snug in our beds...or sleeping bags...and giggling away over everything and nothing. Late nights get the sillies going!
In the morning we played our traditional game of steam roller, and snuggled with our kids.
These two were so happy for some quality time together. Adam was sad because his donut got wet.
And so were these two.
At the campsite (or glorified park) there was a little festival with animals to see and games to play. Adam is looking at the snakes.
We all caught a fish at the fishing pond.
Sarah didn't mind catching it, but she wouldn't touch it! Good thing Dad was there to release it.
Waiting for a bite.
Adam's fish almost got Rachel, I love that I caught her natural reaction! So girly, so Rachel.
The wheel of "win more junk." Adam got the water bottle Rachel wanted and Rachel got the jet pen he wanted. Somehow instead of the trading that seemed obvious, Adam ended up with both. Hmm, he must be the baby of the family.

After the campout we came home and I had a birthday party!
He was so excited to open his presents, mostly cars as you see. He was so cute lining up each one after opening it. Adam is funny because he loves to wrap his own presents, so as he opens each one he announces what it will be, "Now I'm opening the talking Finn McMissile."
The girls helped open packaging and play with the new merchandise. You can see the deodorant Sarah bought him, Old Spice of course, and the Team McQueen Mater Rachel bought him is in his hand.
I needed to vacuum after all the camping mess had been tracked through and wrapping paper shreds strewn about. While the "mushroom" was up he started a great new game with it. I love to see how his creative little mind thinks. It became the oil rig and he was spying on the bad guys.
Sunday we planned to have the cake, which he wanted brownies for in the shape of a race track so he could race his new cars on it. He helped make the brownies. Yum!
When Dad came home he added the best part.
He could scarcely believe what a beautiful cake he'd made.
And it tasted good too!
Mommy couldn't believe that her baby boy is really 4 years old! Happy Birthday Little Dude!
