We were so excited to use our last week of passes and see Aunt Luise and Uncle Van. Sadly, Uncle Van passed away in his sleep the morning we arrived. Aunt Luise said she was so glad to not have to be alone at that time and felt it was a tender mercy to have Van pass when she had loved ones coming to be with and comfort her. We tried to be helpful with funeral plans and cleaning and food, and offering distraction and comfort.

Sarah said this was her best day at Disneyland ever because we brought safe food that didn't make her sick, and she wore earplugs and got to sit in the wheelchair.
Waiting for Dad to come get the stragglers in the car. You can only walk so far in a day.
Aunt Luise and I drove down memory lane to see her first house with Van.
I think this used to be the Tastee Freeze she'd take her kids and scouts to.

Hey Hottie! Call me sometime!
This was so precious to watch Mickey roll a Lightning McQueen car back and forth with this little kid.
The last night, Friday, we stayed in a hotel by Knott's berry farm so Aunt Luise's family could come to town and we'd be out of their hair. The funeral on Saturday was nice.

I'm so glad we could be there with and for Aunt Luise.
Time to get home. Random fact: this was the last day Sarah had a pretzel, or any wheat.
