We got home very late Friday night from Aunt Luise's, just in time to wake up early for conference.
Nothing says Conference weekend like a hoagie.
Adam made a nice tent for listening to conference.
We enjoyed making yummy sugar cookies, but I it is the messiest to clean up after.
Adam's first black eye. He and Rachel were wrestling and she accidentally kicked him. She feels so bad.
Scott and Katie came to visit. Scott is planning to sell Living Scriptures at the State Fair for the whole month. What a special treat to have him stay so long. Katie came a bit, but mostly stayed with her sister in Tucson, and Scott went to visit her whenever he could.
Adam is always begging to help our company with their rolling suitcases. Maybe he wants to be a bell-boy when he grows up.
Their arrival just so happened to be a few minutes before Adam's very first soccer practice ever. He was very excited to be on a team and Scott was so excited to have a sports activity to go to and see someone he loves play. I didn't think to bring a camera, but luckily both of them had fancy phones and caught some cute shots. He was ready with his new red ball.
Adam was so excited about his team shirt he put it on right away and modeled.
He met his team mates and coach.
Adam giving us the thumbs up. We told him it means, "Everything is going good." He kept stopping and giving us thumbs up to remind us that everything was going good. In fact he was so intent on making sure we knew that he missed lots of action in the practice by giving us the all important thumbs up. It cracked up Katie and Scott, and me.
Scott gave him some pointers. I wished Scott could be his coach, fun! Scott was so proud of him running at the head of the group, the best and fastest one out there! He'd get right in there and go for the ball. I thought, "Wow he is just like his Daddy!" But by the game on Saturday, all the interest was used up and he was only interested in getting his raisin box at the end of the game. His interest remained low, though he would follow the group around the field, skipping behind just happy to be outside.
While Katie was in town we gave them the girls' room, but long term Scott and Adam were roommates with matching fuzzy blankets. What a coincidence!
Scott and Adam got to have special time in the mornings before the fair was open. Scott taught Adam about Angry Birds. I set the timer for 5 minutes and told him any longer would melt his brain.
It really has been a blessing, because Adam has been needing some male one on one time. Thank you Scott!
Waiting in the return line at Walmart I notice Adam's eye is healing pretty nicely.
Sweet Sisters.
Adam is very helpful in cleaning out the vacuum, he loves to cut the hair off the roller for me.
First game day of the season
First game day ever.
Who's ready?
Just a minute.
Hydrating, very important.
Mom and Rachel birthday shopping, she was looking for a good hat, not these, she chose a white one.
October 13th was a very special day when my very special friend Yoshi was baptized.
It was a great event.
Poor Benton got dressed in Rachel's accessories.
On the Friday the 19th Rachel got to open one special surprise present early. Her fairy dress.
We invited all Rachel's fairy friends over to Pixie Hollow to see what fairy talents they had.
First we did water talent, decorating a nametag for your water bottle. Then for water talent we took the water bottles out on the patio and saw how good each girl could be a fountain. Then we did winter talent and competed to see who could hold an ice cube in their mouth the longest.
Flower Talent, making flowers out of candy on a kabob stick.
Dancing talent.
Natasha telling Rachel, "I think you might get a fairy doll of Periwinkle for your birthday..." hint hint. She was so excited she just couldn't wait.
Baking talents, making biscuits.
Ice Cream cake.
Yum.
Some of the fairy flowers, and cute mushroom and flower the girls made for Pixie Hollow.
We had a fairy feast with the biscuits and fruit and cheese and nuts. Then we opened presents.
What do you know? Rachel did get a Periwinkle doll, and from Natasha! What a surprise.
It looks like the goalie is getting some coaching from a soccer book, no it is a law book and Dad is studying, ever studying, but still helping Adam.
Having an apple juice popsicle at home after the game.
The boys chillin' after church.
Mom took everyone for a walk and they collected treasures to bring home and make a creation with.
Monday morning was Rachel's real birthday.
She got a jewelry box from Cole's, the Palmer's gave her a pet shop Lego set.
Ty and I gave her the white hat and dress, Scott and Katie gave her the hair flowers...so sweet.
It was special having Scott here for the fun.
Snickers, Adam's bear, was at the party too.
Alana stayed with us while her niece was born. Her and Adam enjoyed a story from Rachel before bed.
Halloween loot from ward party.
Ty actually dressed up this year,
as a Henrie's Drive-in employee.
Sunday snuggles.
Playing Ninja ball with Scott.
Breakfast buddies.
On the actual day of Halloween I took the kids to McDonald's and used a free smoothie coupon we got in the mail. It made the day special. Then we hid out inside and watched Snoopy..."I got a rock." Classic.
